Everything about Area Of Responsibility totally explained
Area Of Responsibility (AOR) is an acronym used to define an area with specific geographic boundaries for which a person or organisation bears a certain responsibility.
In the US military, an AOR is a pre-defined geographic region assigned to a
Unified Combatant Command. This system is designed to allow a single commander to exercise command and control of all military forces in the AOR, regardless of their branch of service.
For instance, the AOR for
United States European Command is defined here: http://www.eucom.mil/english/AOR/main.asp
The term may also be used in other realms but originated with the US military.
